We believe that everyone, regardless of income, should have access to local, fresh produce. We also understand that the upfront and overall costs of our CSA program create barriers to that access. We have set aside funds, with the assistance of the community, to offset some of the financial burden. We have also created a modified payment schedule to allow for lower payments over a longer period of time. Our ability to reduce the overall cost of our CSA share will be dependent on the amount of funds available.

What is a CSA?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. During the growing season our farm offers a limited number of vegetable shares to the community. Customers can purchase their share during the winter providing our farm with much needed operating expenses (which are high in the spring). In return, members will receive a regular share of fresh vegetables and herbs from our farm during the growing season. A membership with us represents a mutually beneficial relationship where we each share the risks and bounty of food production.
Because of generous donations, this grant allows for individuals or families in need of assistance to also be supported by the community in order to receive our produce for a season.
What does our grant cover?
This grant covers a portion (at least 25%) of the total cost of a Half Share for the upcoming season. You will be required to cover the remaining portion of the CSA share. We will award up to 5 grants for the season. The number of grants and the final award amount will be based on the funding we receive from the community.
Our Half Share members receive produce every other week during the main 24 week growing season. You will receive a total of 12 veggie boxes. Grant recipients are still required to make arrangements for picking up their box every other week.
Please make sure you are familiar with how our CSA works, our pick-up locations, and FAQs to determine if a CSA share is right for you. Pick-up at all locations is on Thursdays with the exception of the Lake Saint Louis Farmers Market on Saturdays.
